Egypt eVisa Application Guide: Everything You Need to Know

    What is an Egypt eVisa?

The Egypt Electronic Visa (eVisa) is an official entry authorization issued by the Ministry of Interior of the Arab Republic of Egypt. It allows eligible foreign nationals to enter Egypt for tourism purposes without needing to visit an embassy or wait in long currency-exchange queues for a Visa on Arrival.

    Single-Entry vs Multiple-Entry eVisa

When applying for an Egypt eVisa, you can choose between two options:

    • Single-Entry Tourist eVisa: Valid for 90 days from the issue date, allowing one single entry with a maximum stay of up to 30 days.
    • Multiple-Entry Tourist eVisa: Valid for 180 days from the issue date, allowing multiple entries into Egypt with up to 30 days per visit.

    What You Need Before Starting

    • An ordinary passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned arrival date.
    • A clear digital scan or photograph of your passport biographical page.
    • Accommodation booking details (hotel name, address, or host invitation).
    • An active email address to receive your official eVisa PDF.

    How Long Does Approval Take?

Standard processing takes 7 business days, or around 4 business days with express processing. It is strongly advised to submit your application at least 7 to 10 days before traveling to accommodate Egyptian immigration reviews.

Tip: Ensure your passport scan is crisp, showing all corners and the MRZ code clearly. Do not use flash photography that reflects off laminated pages.
